Microsoft's Cloud Computing expert joins Apple

In a major blow to Microsoft, Apple has poached an important Microsoft executive to fulfill its aim of expanding bigger data centre infrastructure. If reports are to be believed then Microsoft's general manager of Datacenter Services, Kevin Timmons will soon join a leading post in Apple.

It has been speculated that Timmons' departure from Microsoft will create difficulties for the software giant. Timmons will not fill the shoes late Oliver Sanche, top data centre executive, who passed away last year. So, it is not clear what role is designated to Timmons. But despite of this, Apple's cloud computing plans are set to touch new heights.
According to an insider, Apple is planning to build more data centers in Europe and the US. Timmons in previous job has build data centers in Chicago and Dublin. Moreover, he has delivered the projects on time and on budget and continues to do so in Apple.

Its time, Microsoft should protect this talent drain from going into the hands of its rivals.
